6C. Ceiling mounting of PD-2200 presence detector
50 Hz, non-dimmable or dimmable HF operating devices| The premises
In warehouse premises with a high ceiling and goods that are constantly being moved around, for example, a ceiling-mounted PD-2200 IR detector (or PD-2400 for 24 V) with Lens 51 is a good solution for presence control of the lighting. Light sourcesThis application can be used in combination with fittings that have 50 Hz choke operation, non-dimmable HF operating devices or dimmable HF operating devices. Positioning of detectorIn warehouse premises and other areas with a ceiling height of up to eight metres, and where the 'interior fittings' are constantly being changed, a ceiling-mounted PD-2200 presence detector is often the best solution. With mounting at a height of eight metres and using Lens 51, the area of cover will be as much as 20 x 9 m = 180 m. With lower mounting the area of cover will be as in the illustrations below. |
It is important that the detector not be influenced by the heat from the fittings, which can happen if it is mounted above the fittings. With regard to control of the light sources this positioning of the detector can be used in combination with a conventional control system or a dynamic system. The type selected depends on the type of fitting and on how frequently the premises are to be used. See Application 1A for connection example using a conventional control system. See Application 1B for connection example using a dynamic control system. In installations with 50 Hz operation and non-dimmable HF devices one is advised to implement control on the power side, i.e. to have the detectors control the contactors via an auxiliary relay. This will cause increased wear on operating devices and light sources. To alleviate this, fittings with 50 Hz choke operation must be provided with electronic igniters such as Aura Light 'Strike'. |
